Congratulations to Impact on its 35th year of informing, educating, and sharing critically important information to the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities. In supporting people with disabilities to participate, contribute and thrive in their communities, Impact has been ahead of the game by exposing our system’s shortcomings and being a leading force for systemic change. We at the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals use the information found within the issues of Impact to inform our advocacy work across the country. I believe that is incumbent upon our organization to share reliable, research-driven information with our direct support workforce, policy makers and elected officials.
