Quantitative data includes any information that is numerical in nature. It includes counts, percentages, etc. (Given, 2008).
Qualitative data are non-numerical in nature. It includes meanings, symbols, and descriptions of things (Babbie, 2013; Lune & Berg, 2016).
For the purposes of this learning module, we focus on quantitative data.
