Notice that the mentor asks the student what the problem is, then reframes it in order to begin problem solving. The student has identified several problems (inability to get to the bus stop on time, teachers’ policies preventing late work from being graded), but only one that she has control over.
The student is focused on the problem she cannot control: teachers’ late-work policies. In the next clip, you will see how the mentor addresses this.
