School-wide administration of the SEI can be a powerful tool for identifying students in need of additional support that may not be found when reviewing Attendance, Behavior, & Course Performance (ABC) data. Including students’ cognitive and affective indicators of engagement in student identification can help ensure that students are not missed or “slip through the cracks.”
Using the SEI Data
Readily available ABC data in combination with SEI data can help determine which students would benefit from an additional intervention.
Percentile Scores
Students with scores in the lowest 25% show the greatest overall disengagement and should be considered to receive additional targeted support.
