Getting started with telehealth for early intervention: Learning modules

Where to set up

Consider where in your home you want the provider to work with your child. This is likely an area where your child has access to toys and to other items to use during their intervention session.

It may be multiple areas. For example, if your child is working on skills during mealtime, you may have one set up at the kitchen table and a second setup in the living room for other skills.

A few things to think about for set up space:

  1. Is there room for your child to move around,
  2.  Are you near some toys and materials to be used during intervention (such as a set of plastic drawers, a row of a bookshelf, a storage bin),
  3. Does your child likes to move from room to room, if so, consider arranging the set up so it discourages frequently running out of the room,
  4. Always remember to re-check the area for safety considerations.
