Information about many HCBS outcomes is based upon information from administrative data sets or secondary data.
Recipient-reported outcomes, however, are based upon the reports of recipients themselves via interviews and surveys.
Recipient-reported outcomes have the potential to provide a person-centered approach to measuring HCBS outcomes.
These outcomes directly reflect the individual's reported experience and can be used to:
understand ways to increase the quality of life for recipients
provide information about how services can be improved
track compliance and quality assurance
