It’s a marathon, not a sprint
These modules are designed to help you create a plan to make changes in routines and in the everyday work within HCBS. Many teams implementing person-centered practices report that it takes a few years to make the changes that are needed. The goal is to add a few goals each year that can be easily completed and that does not create stress.
Teams that successfully change person-centered practices are:
- Using an action plan that is reasonable and achievable,
- “Working smarter, not harder” by building practices into everyday meetings, work routines, and processes, and
- Setting their own pace and thinking about the person-centered change process as “a marathon, not a sprint.”
