How much money is spent on Medicaid ICF/IID services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities?

It cost $9.8 billion in 2017 to fund supports for 73,855 people with intellectual or developmental disabilities in a Medicaid ICF/IID institution. The average cost to live in an ICF/IID in 2017 was $140,057 per person. Thirty-seven states told us the costs for people of different ages. The average cost was $101,707 per year for people 21 and younger. The average cost was $137,954 per year for people 22 years and older.
