In 2021, of the estimated 2,251,177 adults with IDD in the United States, 45% were known to state IDD agencies.

Of the 1,007,735 adults known to state IDD agencies, 70% received Medicaid Waiver funded supports, 6% lived in an ICF/IID, 14% received long-term supports or services funded another way, and 10% received no long-term services or supports other than case management.
