What are Self-Directed Supports?

Self-directed supports mean that you are able to hire the direct service workers (DSW) you want.  You can decide what supports they provide you and when they provide them.

Self-directed supports give you more choice and control over who works for you, but you are responsible for recruiting, employing, paying, and training DSWs.
