Addressing DSW Poor Performance

2. Read

DSWs do not always do what you need them to do.  Be clear about what they need to do to provide the supports the way you want them done.

If providing coaching and feedback has not improved your DSW’s performance, a more formal approach is needed to address their performance.

  1. Identify the specific issues you want the DSW to improve.
  2. Meet with your DSW and be clear about your expectations.
  3. Ask the DSW what they will do to improve their performance.
  4. Have a written plan that includes the areas of concern and the actions the DSW agreed to take.
